Adult Bible Study at St. Jane’s – Participation is open to Catholic adults. The meetings consist of prayer, input by a facilitator, sharing and fellowship. Meetings are every Sunday from 4-6pm. Facilitators are graduates of the 3-year Bible Study program of the Catholic Bible Institute in Loyola Marymount, and are certified facilitators by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.  We also support the training of current CBI students in their facilitation practicum.
Our next meeting is on SUNDAY, August 29,  2010, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Parish Adult Music Room. Jimmy Raneses will facilitate and give a talk on Acceptance and Transformation.
We will have a small fellowship reception after Bible Study as Going Away Party for Jimmy Raneses, who will be moving back to live permanently in the Philippines.
A new Bible Study session will start on SUNDAY, September 5,  2010, to discuss the different Parables of Jesus found in the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke).

August 31, 2010, Knights of Columbus First Degree Ceremony - Knights of Columbus Van Nuys Council #3148 is having a First Degree Ceremony on August 31, 2010. The Knights of Columbus is the Largest Catholic Fraternal Organization in the  world. All men 18 years and older who are practicing Catholics are eligible. September 11, 2010 Archdiocesan Celebration of Cultures, Eucharistic Liturgy - Sponsored by The Office of Ethnic Ministry, the theme of this year’s celebration is “Unity and Diversity- One Lord of All”. The event is intended to highlight and celebrate cultural diversity as an important component of our present society and Church Communities. The Catholic Church in  America recognizes cultural diversity as an essential constitutive part of our present society. Our parishes reflect this multi-cultural character in our congregations that gather during Sunday and weekday Liturgies. Members of the community are invited  to come in a spirit of solidarity, by encouraging them to join our celebration of various cultural identities, colorful heritages, rich  traditions and in solidarity and unity on: Saturday, September 11, 2010. September 17-19, 2010 Beginning Experience Weekend Retreat - The Office of Family Life recognizes the Beginning Experience Ministry which serves those who have experienced the loss of a spouse through death, divorce or separation. The

October 1-3, 2010 Marriage Encounter Weekend Retreat - The Marriage Encounter Movement of California (MEMC) formerly known as Marriage Encounter in the Filipino Perspective (MEFP) is under the Auspice of Office of Family Life-Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Confirmation Classes Track I & Track II

St. Jane Frances parish is now accepting applications for its 2010-2011  Confirmation Classes Track I & Track II. Applications are available at the St. Jane Frances School. All applications and payments  are to be turned in to the St. Jane Frances School Office by Friday, September 24, 2010. The following MUST be present at the  time of registration: Birth Certificate, Baptismal Certificate, First Holy Communion Certificate and Payment. Religious Education

Registration for Year2 Students began on July 1, 2010. The hours for reregistration are from  4:30pm-6:30pm during the week and Saturdays from 9:30am-11:30am. All Sacramental Paperwork must be in place and half a  payment is needed to complete registration. For questions please call 818-985-8272 ext. 203.
Year I registration began on August 2nd. A copy of your child's birth Certificate and Baptismal Certificate must be brought in, the fee for first year is $80.00 a deposit must be made at the time of registration. 

 

 

THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION
WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH?

This is a Process involving various steps and stages that lead adults into full communion with the Catholic Church. This process  is available to the following:

1. Adults who are unbaptized, who want to become a Catholic.
2. Adults Baptized non-Catholic, who want to become a Catholic.
3. Adults Baptized Catholic, who want to receive First Communion/Confirmation or First Communion only.

Esto es un proceso que requiere varias Etapas. Se le ofrece a:

1. Adultos sin Bautizar que desea ser Católico.
2. Adultos, Bautizado en otra Religión que desea ser Católico.
3. Adultos, que desea recibir la Primera Eucaristía/Confirmación, o Primer Eucaristía solamente porque ya fue Bautizado y  Confirmado de antes.
